Rezin was born on February 27th, 1832 in Perry County, Indiana.1  Rezin's father was Rezin Barnes and his mother was Catherine Rizer.  His maternal grandparents were George W. Rizer and Margaret "Peggy" Ambrose. He had five brothers and two sisters, named George, James, Benjamin, William, Jacob, Rebecca and Sophia.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 22 on August 6th, 1854.2
