Benjamin Houston Herndon 
Benjamin was born on May 9th, 1765 in Culpeper County, Virginia. Benjamin's father was Edward Herndon and his mother was Mary Ann Gaines. His paternal grandparents were William Herndon and Ann Drysdale. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named James, William, Edward, John, George, Henry, Joel, Elizabeth, Rachel, Mary and Nancy. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 39 on April 12th, 1805 in Elbert County, Georgia.-
