James Herndon

James was born on August 5th, 1805 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. James' father was Hearndon and his mother was Elizabeth Long. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Herndon and Polly Elliott. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Jones, Daniel, William, Elizabeth, Polly, Jane and Nancy. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Oliver, Joseph, Elliott, John and Daughter. He died at the age of 76 on April 16th, 1882.
