Samuel was born in 1858 in Ohio.1   Samuel's father was Henry Seibert and his mother was Rosannah Ambrose.  His maternal grandparents were Jacob Ambrose and Elizabeth. He had six brothers and a sister, named Philander, Jacob, George, Malcomb, Charles, Newton and Mary.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 22 on July 26th, 1880 in Gravity, Taylor County, Iowa.  He was buried in Washington Cemetery, Gravity, Iowa.1 1
