Robert was born on January 7th, 1939 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Robert's father was Paul Hobart Shire and his mother was Elizabeth Marie Webster. His paternal grandparents were Eli A Shire and Elizabeth May Shephard; his maternal grandparents were Leroy Edward Webster and Minnie Estelle Mitchell. He had four brothers and a sister, named Lowell, Paul, Zane, Rocky and Lauvita. He is the second youngest of the six children.General Notes
