Earl was born about 1910.  Earl's father was John Tolle and his mother was Meta Reese.  His paternal grandparents were Herman Tolle and Caroline; his maternal grandparents were Carl Reese and Bormei (Minnie). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Lester, Mert, Bud, Charlie, Vernon, Ira and Hazel.
