George B. Van Valkenburgh

George was born on April 14th, 1837 in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York. George's father was Jacob Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Mary (Polly) Bethia Higgins. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and Catherine Pruyn; his maternal grandparents were David Higgins and Eunice Gilbert. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Robert, David, Bartholomew, Lucius, Franklin, Gerrit, Edward, George, Kate, Gertrude and Mary. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 1 on March 8th, 1839 in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York.
