George Rudd Van Valkenburgh

George was born on October 7th, 1839 in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York. George's father was Jacob Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Mary (Polly) Bethia Higgins. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and Catherine Pruyn; his maternal grandparents were David Higgins and Eunice Gilbert. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Robert, David, Bartholomew, Lucius, Franklin, Gerrit, George, Edward, Kate, Gertrude and Mary. He was the youngest of the twelve children. He died at 5 months old on March 10th, 1840 in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York.
