Lydia was born in 1853 in Highland County, Ohio.  Lydia's father was William Pulse Webster and her mother was Rebecca Leah Teboe.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Fendel Webster and Elizabeth Pulse; her maternal grandparents were Conrad Teboe and Rebecca. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Abner, William, James, Sarah, Eliza, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Matilda.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 47 in 1900 in Highland County, Ohio.  She was buried in Stroup Cemetery, Lynchburg, Ohio.

Lydia and John were married in a religious ceremony on October 30th, 1871 in Highland County, Ohio.
