Calvin Kidder Medaris 
Calvin was born in 1852 in Shelby County, Ohio. Calvin's father was David Tuttle Medaris and his mother was Rebecca Frazier. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Medaris and Charity Ellsworth. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Joseph, Sylvester, Thomas, Mary, Sarah and Charity. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 71 in 1923 in Linn County, Kansas. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery.General Notes
Calvin was called by his middle name "Kidder". He never married and lived with his parents. His neices Cora and Bertha (daughters of Thomas) lived with Kidder in the 1900 census. Kidder owned his farm and in 1900 also had a boarder, Fred Adams born in August of 1881 in Kansas. Fred worked on the farm. In 1910 Kidder was still living in Linn County, Kansas but there was no one else living with him. Kidder still operated his farm in 1920 and his widowed sister, 75 year old Sarah Spicer, now shared the home with him.
