Joseph B. Medaris 
Joseph was born in 1841 in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio. Joseph's father was David Tuttle Medaris and his mother was Rebecca Frazier. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Medaris and Charity Ellsworth. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Sylvester, Thomas, Calvin, Mary, Sarah and Charity. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 23 on May 2nd, 1864 in Bushnell, McDonough County, Illinois.General Notes
Joseph enlisted in the Army 07 Oct. 1861 in Bushnell, McDonough County, Illinois. He was killed in the Civil War. He was a Sgt. Co. F, 55 Illinois Infantry.
