Solomon was born on February 19th, 1809 in Cahokia, Saint Clair County, Illinois.1   Solomon's father was Abraham Teter and his mother was Maria "Mary" Kittle.  His paternal grandparents were Paul Teter and Rebecca Henckel; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Kittle and Christina Westfall. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Joshua, Levi, Isaac, Abram, Philip, Abigail, Christina, Rebecca, Priscilla and Mary.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 81 on January 1st, 1891 in 3 miles north of Freeburg, St. Clair County, Illinois.  He was buried in Teter Family Cemetery, later moved to Elmwood Cemetery, Freeburg, Illinois.2 1
