William was born on August 25th, 1946.  William's father is Harold Adams and his mother is Clella Mae Lyon.  His maternal grandparents were Emmett Gatewood Lyon and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ellen Webster. He has a brother and a sister, named Kevin and Karen.  He is the second oldest of the three children.
