Mary "Polly" Ambrose

Mary, known as Polly, was born on May 9th, 1801 in Berkeley County, Virginia. Polly's father was Mathias Ambrose and her mother was Rosanna Clover. Her paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and her paternal grandmother is Sarah; her maternal grandparents were Philip A Clover and Elizabeth. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named David, Ticey, John, Henry, William, George, Joseph, Margaret, Martha, Rosanna, Hannah, Susannah and Lucy. She was the fifth oldest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 71 on July 2nd, 1872 in Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia. She was buried in Ambrose Chapel Cemetery, south of Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia.
