Mathias "Ticey" Ambrose 
Mathias, known as Ticey, was born on September 21st, 1797 in Berkeley County, Virginia.1 Ticey's father was Mathias Ambrose and his mother was Rosanna Clover. His paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and his paternal grandmother is Sarah; his maternal grandparents were Philip A Clover and Elizabeth. He had six brothers and seven sisters, named David, John, Henry, William, George, Joseph, Margaret, Martha, Polly, Rosanna, Hannah, Susannah and Lucy. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 86 on December 22nd, 1883 in Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia. He was buried in Ambrose Chapel Cemetery, south of Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia.1 Death Notes
Morgan Co. Death Records 1865-1903 show 1882, age 85 years, but since this death was reported by his son-in-law, Daniel Fearnow, I have used the year 1883, shown on his tombstone. Aged 86y 3m 1d.
