Mary was born in 1809 in Virginia.  Mary's father was Jacob Ambrose and her mother was Elizabeth.  Her paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and her paternal grandmother is Sarah. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Peter, John, Jacob, William, Margaret and Rosannah.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died on April 6th in Cable, Champaign County, Ohio.  She was buried in Jenkins Chapel Cemetery, Cable, Ohio.1 1
