David was born about 1819 in Highland County, Ohio.  David's father was Joseph Creek and his mother was Susannah Gibler. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, Levi, West, William, Catherine, Phebe, Lydia, Julia Ann, Helen and Susannah.  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.  He died before 1880 in Blackford County, Indiana.
