Edward was born in November 1878 in Illinois.  Edward's father was Carl Reese and his mother was Bormei (Minnie). He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, August, John, Charles, Emma, Minnie, Meta and Anna.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 95 on February 11th, 1974 in Hiawatha, Kansas.
