Jacob was born on September 24th, 1782 in Coxsackie, Columbia County, New York.1 Jacob's father was Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Elizabeth Moore. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Van Valkenburgh and Cathalyntie Leggett; his maternal grandparents were William Moore and Elizabeth Huybregh. He had a sister named Catlinje. He was the younger of the two children. He had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Jacob, Harman, Bartholomew, Francis, William, Elizabeth, Jannetje, Bata, Maria, Catherine and Lydia. He died at 4 months old on February 6th, 1783. He was buried on February 8th, 1783 in Nautenhook (Newton Hook), Columbia County, New York.General Notes
