Philip was born about 1774 in Berkeley County, Virginia.  Philip's father was William Henry Ambrose and his mother is Sarah. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named Mathias, William, Peter, Henry, John, Frederick, Jacob, Daniel, Solomon, Peggy and Catherine.  He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.  Philip is no longer alive.
