Lucie was born about 1867.  Lucie's father was David Marion Lyon and her mother was Sarah C. Shaffer.  Her paternal grandparents were William Lyon and Elizabeth Tweedy. She had four brothers and three sisters, named George, Algernon, Selina, William, Margret, Mary and Sadie.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.
