Constance was born about 1066.  Constance's father was King William I “the Conqueror” Plantagenet, of England and her mother was Matilda of Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert I of Normandy, 6th Duc de Normandie and Arlette (Herleve) Falaise; her maternal grandparents were Baldwin V ("the Pious") of Flanders and Princess Adele of France. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Richard, Rufus, Henry, Adeliza, Cecilia, Adela and Agatha.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.  She died in 1090.
