George Herndon

George was born in 1795 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. George's father was Reuben Herndon and his mother was Hannah Long. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Herndon and Polly Elliott. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Jesse, Elliott, Elisha, Moses, Aaron, David, Reuben, Sarah and Anna. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 79 on October 5th, 1874 in Missouri. He was buried in Herndon Cemetery, Thornsfield, Ozark County, Missouri.
