Elizabeth was born in 1779 in Baltimore County, Maryland.  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Travis and her mother was Hannah Hutchins.  Her paternal grandparents were John Travis and Nancy Copeland. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Jeremiah, Thomas, Catherine, Nancy and Hannah.  She was the oldest of the seven children. She had four half-brothers named James, John, Beverly and Jeremiah.  She died at the age of 86 on December 27th, 1865 in Clinton County, Kentucky.
