Nancy was born about 1785 in Wilkes County, Georgia.  Nancy's father was Thomas Travis and her mother was Hannah Hutchins.  Her paternal grandparents were John Travis and Nancy Copeland. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Jeremiah, Thomas, Elizabeth, Catherine and Hannah.  She was the third youngest of the seven children. She had four half-brothers named James, John, Beverly and Jeremiah.  She died in 1875 in Russell County, Kentucky.
