Catherine Ambrose

Catherine was born about 1827 in Morgan County, Virginia.  Catherine's father was Daniel Ambrose and her mother was Anna Nancy Rizer.  Her paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and her paternal grandmother is Sarah; her maternal grandparents were Rev. Mathias G. Rizer and Mary Michael. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jacob, Peter and Ambrose.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Ambrose, Ambrose, Nelson, Nicholas, William, Mathias and Susan.
