William Henry Ambrose 
William was born on January 26th, 1814 in Berkeley Springs, Morgan County, West Virginia. William's father was Daniel Ambrose and his mother was Sophia Marquart. His paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and his paternal grandmother is Sarah. He had five brothers and a sister, named Ambrose, Ambrose, Nelson, Nicholas, Mathias and Susan. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Jacob, Peter, Catherine and Ambrose. He died at the age of 84 on April 23rd, 1898 in Greene County, Illinois. He was buried in Borlin Cemetery, Woodville, Greene County, Illinois.1 1 General Notes
Listed in Deed Book 8, page 264, 26 Mar 1861 -- 150 acres 2-1/2 miles south of town of Bath.
Served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War.
