Eleanor was born in 1567 and her christening took place on March 5th, 1568 in Wivelscombe, Somersetshire, England.  Eleanor's father was Robert Bennett and her mother was Elizabeth Edney.  Her paternal grandparents were John Bennett and Margery. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named John, John, Johan, Robert, William, Richard, Christopher, Edward, Thomas, Margery, Elizabeth, Agnes and Dorothy.  She was the seventh youngest of the fourteen children.
