Mary, known as Mollie, was born on April 5th, 1868 in Morgan County, West Virginia.1   Mollie's father was Peter V. Ambrose and her mother was Mariah Alice Whisner.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Ambrose and Anna Nancy Rizer. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Elmira, Samuel, William, Levi, Harry, Anna, Lillie, Eva and Amanda.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children. She had five half-brothers named Jesse, Aaron, George, E. and Jeremiah.  She died at the age of 89 in 1957.2
